NEW ORLEANS- A 1-year-old boy was dumped along a busy road in New Orleans after his mother’s SUV was carjacked at a gas station with him inside, authorities said.
A motorist who was heading to a landfill, mistook the boy for a doll. After pulling over, and seeing the boy walking towards him, he called 911, reports WDSU.
Police rescued the boy, who was found unharmed. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for any injuries.
21-year-old Johnathan Perkins was later arrested in New Orleans, according to reports.
Perkins was charged with aggravated kidnapping of a child, auto theft and illegal possession of stolen property.
