CHICAGO- A man has been charged with attempted murder and other felony charges after allegedly shooting a police officer in the face during a struggle earlier this week.
On Monday, the officer was responding to a report of an altercation between a security guard and the suspect.
McPherson allegedly got into a struggle with the officer in the parking lot when another officer arrived, according to Chicago news outlets.
“This offender then fired three rounds from their gun at our officer, striking him once,” Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown.
The officer was taken to a Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
McPherson, 23, was charged with charged with six additional felony charges for unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated battery of a peace officer, kidnapping while armed with firearm, aggravated unlawful restraint and resisting/obstructing.
