Singer Chris Brown has been charged with with two counts misdemeanor counts of possession of a restricted species without a permit, for having a pet capuchin monkey he named ‘Fiju’, according to court documents obtained by US Weekly, that were filed on Dec 10th.
The California Dept Of Fish and Wildlife has begun an investigation. Documents reveal that the monkey is suspected to have resided at Brown’s L.A. home from October 2017 to January 2018.
Now, according to Brown’s sources who have spoken to TMZ, the singer is saying that the monkey is NOT his. Yeah. In fact, his sources are saying that the video of his daughter Royalty, who was seen on video playing with the monkey back in Dec of 2017, was taken in Las Vegas at a family member’s house.
Brown says that the monkey belongs to his this family member of his, who lives in Las Vegas where the monkey is legal. Prosecutors are not buying his story.
Brown could face up to six months in jail if convicted. He’s set to appear in court on Feb 6.
The singer has since then posted this message on his Instagram to those that want to see him fall..
