LOS ANGELES- Singer Chris Brown is being sued by Popeye’s for $2 million.
Legal documents claim Brown owes City National Bank $2.1 million in unpaid principal and interest since he first borrowed money in 2018 to purchase two Popeyes locations but has never paid back the bank, The Blast reports.
The original lawsuit was filed in Georgia where the courts already ruled in favor of the bank. City National has since filed a case in Los Angeles, where the singer lives, to collect the money they’re owed, according to the outlet.
Several other people are named in the lawsuit as borrowers, including producer and singer The Dream, but the suit claims that Brown is the personal guarantor of the loan, and he is responsible for the payments owed.
