Country Singer Kylie Rae Harris caused her accident according to Sheriff

TEXAS- Country singer Kylie Rae Harris died from an accident that a Sheriff is now saying she caused.

Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe told Tao News that Harris caused the three-car crash on Wednesday that killed her and took the life of an innocent 16-year-old girl.

Harris reportedly clipped the back of another vehicle, causing her to go into oncoming traffic and then crashed into another vehicle.

What’s truly devastating is that the victim’s father, who’s the deputy chief of the San Cristobal Volunteer Fire Dept responded to the accident.

Heartbreaking.

Maria Elena Cruz from San Cristóbal was just 16 years old..

Authorities believe that besides speed, the crash may have also been caused by alcohol because they found evidence at the scene that indicates so. A toxicology report can prove if that’s correct.

The 30-year-old singer was charged with a D.U.I. in 2007 and was ordered to install an ignition interlock device inside of her car.

Harris was driving  to perform at the Big Barn Dance, a four-day music festival in Taos.
