ATLANTA- Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis filed a 10-page motion Thursday, asking to delay the RICO trial against rappers Young Thug, Gunna and 23 other defendants, according to Fox News.
The request comes after a quarter of the defendants stand with no lawyers in the trial, the D.A. says.
The motion says eight out of the 23 defendants have no lawyers. Lewis is requesting that the trial, which was scheduled for Jan. 9, to be delayed until March 29 to give time to the defendant to find lawyers.
The motion also says that all the defendants should be tried together, due to their similar charges.
Rappers, Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Willaims, and Gunna, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, are behind bars with 23 other defendants.
Thug and Gunna are being accused of running a street gang, which is the name of Thug’s record label, YSL.
The judge will make a decision at the end of this month.
