Dave Chappelle’s Alleged Attacker Pleads Not Guilty

LOS ANGELES- Comedian Dave Chappelle’s alleged attacker pleaded not guilty to four misdemeanor charges on Friday for the first time since the attack, reports The New York Post.

Isaiah Lee, 23, appeared in court with his broken arm in a spring and a swollen eye.

Prosecutor Henrico Bautista told the court “He charged a person on the stage … in front of hundreds if not thousands and then tackled the victim and fled from security. “When they detained him, he reached for and used the folding knife.”

Lee’s public defender denies her client brandishing a weapon during the attack and says he’s the one who suffered injuries after he was jumped by 12 people.

Lee is accused of attacking Dave Chappelle, as he was performing on stage for a Netflix special Tuesday night.

He was ordered to stay away from Chappelle.

Lee was charged with 4 misdemeanor charges that included possessing a deadly weapon with intent to assault, battery, unauthorized access to the stage area during a performance and commission of an act that delays the event or interferes with performer.

He will not face felony charges.
