LOUISIANA- The death of a teen boy who was found in a sugarcane field is being probed as a homicide.
The body of Quawan “Bobby” Charles was discovered on November 3 by police after his family reported him missing on Oct. 30.
Quawan’s autopsy showed that he died from drowning, and that the injuries to his face were post-mortem according to the medical examiner’s office.
His family believes foul play played a role in his death, and are conducting their own autopsy after commissioning to do so.
Quawans family says the officer who initially took his missing persons report, wasn’t looking to finding the teen, and was allegedly at a game instead of doing his job.
Authorities say that video surveillance shows Quawan walking alone by the creek where his body was later found.
