DETROIT- (Update) A mother has been charged after her 3-year-old son’s body was found inside of a freezer.
Azuradee France, 31, was charged Sunday in the death of her son Chase Allen, reports the Detroit News reported.
The boy’s decomposing body was found Friday, after police and Child Protective Services were conducting a welfare check.
The medical examiner ruled the boy’s death a homicide, but details surrounding his death and how he was killed haven’t been released by authorities, according to reports.
It’s also unclear when the boy died and how long his body was kept inside of the freezer.
The boy’s five other siblings were found living in squalid conditions. They were taken from the home and taken to a hospital for evaluations.
France was charged with felony murder, first-degree child abuse, concealing the death of an individual and torture.
