Diddy Issues Apology After Video Shows Him Beating Ex Cassie, “I’m Truly Sorry”

Sean “Diddy” Combs has issued an apology after a video of him brutally assaulting his then girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016 surfaced this week.

Combs took to his Instagram Live on Sunday to issue the apology.

“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” Diddy said in his video.

“I was fucked up. I mean, I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now.”

He continued his apology, saying, “I went out and sought professional help. Had to go into therapy, into rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace, I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to being a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

in the 2016 video, the music producer and rapper, dressed in only a towel, is seen grabbing his ex-Cassie by the neck and slamming her onto the floor, as she was attempting to get on an elevator. While holding his towel with one hand, Diddy kicks Cassie as she was in a fetal position on the ground.

Ventura, a model and singer, dated Diddy between 2007 and 2018, sued him in November 2023, alleging that he subjected her to years of physical violence and sexual abuse.
