Actor Stoney Westmoreland,48, has been fired by the Disney Channel after he was arrested by police, according to a statement released by the Channel.
“Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week,” said the Disney Channel statement.
Westmoreland had a role on the show “Andi Mack”, as the “Ham Mack”, the main characters grandfather.
A probable cause affidavit states that Westmoreland used a dating app to meet up someone who he thought was a 13 year old boy. The affidavit continued to say that the actor send explicit photos and arranged to meet up with who he thought was a 13 year old boy.
Westmoreland was arrested by Salt Lake City police and members of the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force, when he arrived at the meeting place. He was arrested for attempting to entice, seduce or lure a minor by internet or text,. He’s facing four counts of dealing in materials harmful to minors.
Westmoreland also appeared on “NCIS”, “Scandal”, “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul.”
