A judge has ordered DMX to serve a year in jail, and 3 years of supervised release. His lawyer played DMX’s hit “Slippin” for the judge, but it didn’t work.
DMX whose real name is Earl Simmons, admitted in Nov to invading 1.7 million dollars. DMX cried in court, and told the judge before being sentenced, “I hired people but I didn’t follow up. I guess I really didn’t put too much concern into it.
His lawyers brought up his rough upcoming and drug addiction, but the judge wasn’t having it. Other rappers that have done time for Tax fraud/evasion are Fat Joe, Ja Rule and Lauryn Hill.
