A new documentary shows us the South Carolina “Cult” that rapper Craig Mack was apart of just a year ago before his sudden death at the age of 47.
The documentary “When God Calls” is directed by photojournalist Andrew Theodorakis, and it focuses not only on just the former Bad Boy rapper, whose single “Flava In Ya Ear” rose to number one on the charts, selling over 4 million copies but how he turned his life over to a man who was like a god to him that ran what many are calling a “cult.”
This documentary began just before Mack’s death, it shows the “cult” he joined, why he chose to join and the controversy surrounding the leader of it.
According to The Daily News, Ralph Gordon Stair, is a self-proclaimed prophet who was arrested for sexual assault charges in 2017 and currently out on bond, while still a leader at Overcomer Ministry in Walterboro, S.C..
Theodorakis said that he interviewed 3 women who say they were abused in the hands of Stairs. The allegations range from being inappropriately touched to being raped by the so called prophet.
Mack trusted & turned his life over to this man at a time when he was at the most vulnerable state in his life, which shows in the documentary and he was also aware Stairs’ allegations.
The documentary will be finished in about two months according to Theodorakis.
