Drake Files Motion To Avoid Deposition In XXXTentacion Murder Trial

Drake has reportedly filed a motion in order to prevent him from appearing for a deposition in rapper XXXTentacion’s murder trial.

On February 7, suspects Michael Boatwright, Dedrick Williams and Trayvon Newsome, went on trial after being accused of robbing and killing the Florida rapper outside of a Motorcycle shop in June 2018.

The 4th suspect accepted a plea deal and will testify against the other 3 suspects.

The defense team for the suspects suggested last week in court that Drake may have been involved in XXXTentacion’s death and said the LAPD should have conducted a probe into his beef with XXXTentacion when he was killed.

Defense brought up an old message that XXXTentacion posted on his Instagram story before he died, which read that if something were to happen to him, it would be Drake’s fault.

Williams defense lawyer Mauricio Padilla has tried to subpoena Drake for a deposition, with a deadline by the end of January, but Drake never appeared.

A judge then ordered Drake to give a deposition on Feb. 24 or he will have to appear in court and may be charged with in contempt.

Drake has never been charged in connection to the death of XXXTentacion.

XXXTentacion, whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy was killed at 20-years-old in 2018.
