NEW YORK CITY- Drill rappers 22Gz, Ron Suno, and Sha Ek have been removed by Rolling Loud after orders from the NYPD, according to reports.
The rappers were set to perform at the Rolling Loud music festival this weekend.
The decision was made after New York Mayor Eric Adams has made it clear that he has targeted Drill rap music, due to the violence that surrounds the movement, according to the New York Times.
22-year-old Brooklyn rapper 22Gz was also removed from Rolling Loud in 2019 along with Sheff G and several others.
Bronx rapper Ron Suno got into a fight at last year’s Rolling Loud NYC but wasn’t charged.
A manager for Ek, whose also from The Bronx, said that the rapper has no criminal record and should be allowed to perform at the festival.
