LOS ANGELES- A driver who caused a multi-car crash that killed six people Thursday has been identified as a nurse, according to authorities.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) identified the driver as nurse Nicole Lorraine Linton.
Linton is a traveling nurse Kaiser Permanente’s West Los Angeles Medical Center, reports Fox 11.
Authorities said Linton was driving 100 MPH in a 35 MPH one when she crashed.
Linton, who was driving a Mercedes-Benz, allegedly went through a red light, with no intention on breaking, and investigators are looking into whether she was under the influence of drugs or had a medical episode.
23-year-old Asherey Ryan, her unborn child and her infant son were all killed in the crash, Ryan was reportedly on her way to a prenatal doctor’s appointment.
Four other people were killed in the crash.
There were other victims that suffered injuries, including six children and a 33-year-old woman.
