NYC- The driver who killed rapper Nicki Minaj’s father last year was sentenced to one year in jail.
Charles Polevich, 71, struck Maraj, 64, as he was walking in Long Island. Polevich got out of his vehile, saw Maraj was on the ground, and fled the scene before hiding his car as Maraj was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
Nassau County police tracked Polevich’s vehicle, and he was arrested three days later.
He was charged with leaving the scene of an incident involving the death of a person and tampering with or suppressing physical evidence.
Polevich plead guilty to the charges in May of this year.
