NASHVILLE- ‘Elvis’ actress and Blues singer Shonka Dukureh has died at the age of 44.
Dukureh played Big Mama Thornton in the new Elvis biopic.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said Dukureh was found dead in her apartment on July 21 by one of her two children, who she shared an apartment with, reports The Tennessean.
Her children went to a neighbor for help, and 911 was called.
There is no cause of death, but foul play is not suspected in her death, police said.
Dukureh was working on releasing her Blues first studio album, after her getting her breakout role in Elvis.
