ALABAMA- Former Crimson Tide basketball player Darius Miles allegedly killed a 23-year-old woman because she wouldn’t engage with him, according to the victim’s mother.
The mother of Jamea Jonae Harris, DeCarla Cotton, went on her Facebook page, breaking her silence.
Harris claims that Jamea was shot and killed because she wouldn’t talk to Miles.
Harris wrote: “Took my baby life because she wouldn’t talk to him!!!!” she wrote, according to WBRC-TV.
Miles, 21 and Michael Lynn Davis, 20, were both arrested and charged with capital murder.
Authorities say the deadly shooting occurred early Sunday when Miles and Davis had a minor altercation with the victim, who they didn’t have a relationship with.
Shots were then fired into the vehicle, killing 23-year-old Jamea Harris.
The driver of the vehicle Harris was in returned fire in self-defense, striking a suspect, who was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a hospital.
