ATLANTA- An ex-Atlanta police officer will be spending a decade in prison for his role in the armed robbery of rapper Bankroll Freddie.
Justin Thorne, 26, pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges earlier this month after admitting he played a role in the 2019-armed robbery of the rapper, whose real name is Freddie Gladney III, according to WSBRADIO.
Thorne’s attorney says the disgraced former police officer got involved in the robbery after someone threatened him and his family.
Police responded to reports of an armed robbery at the Comfort Inn and suites in Cobb County.
Surveillance videos show Thorne dressed in his APD uniform, with a badge and holding a gun, as he was being a lookout on the 4th floor while two other men robbed Gladney and his cousin.
Bankroll Freddie is signed to Quality Control Music, which represent artists like Lil Baby, Migo, Cardi B and more.
