NEW ORLEANS- A man has been arrested after his daughter shot herself with his handgun.
Barry Frelix, 41, was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile, possession of a firearm and obstruction of justice, NOLA reports.
The 3-year-old girl was shot in her head and sustained a graze wound. She’s expected to live.
Freliz told police that the shooting incident happened after hearing gunshots while he was taking a walk with his toddler. That story turned out to be false.
