Father charged for the murder of his 3-year-old daughter

MICHIGAN- A father has been charged with the murder of his 3-year-old daughter.

Trevion Dawon Shaver, 21, was charged with murder (a felony) and aggravated battery (a level 1 felony) on Friday.

The sentencing range for murder is 45 to 65 years. The sentencing range for a level 1 felony is 20 to 40 years.

Shaver brought his unresponsive 3-year-old daughter, Kardie Rose Weathersby to an emergency room on Oct. 13, and left the Hospital.

Kardie died two days later from blunt force trauma.

The toddler’s mother arrived at the Hospital, and told the staff that her daughter was under the care of Shaver. She said that Shaver called her, to tell her that he had dropped their daughter off at the e.r. and that she should go and check up on her.

He didn’t provide many details as to why Kardie was there. He did give conflicting stories as how the toddler may have ended up in the Hospital, saying he applied Bactine on Kardie’s skin which caused her to have an allergic reaction, and that she had fell out of a car.

Shaver also told his daughter’s mother that after Kardie urinated on herself, he gave her a bath, and she went limp, hitting her head on the bathtub.

An autopsy showed that Kardie died from blunt force trauma to the head.
