MISSOURI- A father has been charged with murder, 16 years after he claimed that his son was “kidnapped.”
46-year-old Dawan Ferguson had custody of his 9-year-old son Christian Ferguson back in 2003 when he just vanished after moving.
He told police that Christian was kidnapped by a carjacker as he was using a highway payphone. The car turned up later that day, just several miles away and Christian wasn’t inside.
Christian suffered from a rare disorder that stopped his body from processing protein and left him unable to walk. He obviously needed special treatment and care. Police say that Ferguson neglected the child by not giving him food and his medicine while he cared for him.
Even though his body was never found, police have been eyeing Ferguson, who was a bounty hunter at the time because he told them that he used a payphone, but had a cellphone the day his son was “kidnapped” and he refused a lie detector test according to KTVI.
Ferguson is currently being held without bond.
It’s not sure as to what the charges are going to be overall.
