Father Charged With Murdering His Baby After Blaming Death On Cat

MINNESOTA- A man has been charged with murder in the death of his infant daughter after he allegedly blamed her death on the family cat.

Kristopher Henderson, 39, is accused of beating his two-month-old daughter inside their home in September which caused her horrific injuries, reports the Mankato Free Press reported.

The baby suffered bleeding in her brain, broken ribs and broken legs.

She was hospitalized on Sept. 23 for her injuries, but died earlier this month.

Police say Henderson tried to blame the baby’s death on the family’s cat before admitting to police that he had hit his infant daughter several times on her back in an attempt to stop her from crying.

Police say he also admitted to hitting his daughter hard enough to break her ribs.

Henderson was initially charged with first-degree assault but that charge was upgraded to second-degree murder while committing a felony and first-degree manslaughter while committing malicious punishment of a child after his daughter died.

There is no cause of death for the baby as of yet.
