IOWA- A man was shot, and killed while arranging his son’s funeral and police have arrested his killer.
KWOC reports that 26-year-old Jeramie Shorter, who was preparing for his 7-year-old son’s funeral on Saturday morning, was shot and killed by 24-year-old Nuemonei Laster.
Witnesses called police, which led them to a chase with Laster, who was taken into custody and charged.
Laster has been charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, interference with official acts with a weapon and eluding arrest.
Police say that Laster “willfully, deliberately, and with premeditation shot the victim” before admitting to killing him.
Police don’t have a motive for the fatal shooting as of now.
