GEORGIA- The father of a missing toddler was arrested Thursday after authorities said his story had “inconsistencies” in his claim that his 2-year-old son was abducted.
Artavious North, 23, was arrested Thursday and charged with false statements and false reports of a crime related to the disappearance of his son J’Asiah Deon Mitchell, police said.
Investigators confirmed Thursday that there were “inconsistencies” in North’s initial story that J’Asiah was abducted by armed men while his car was at a red light on Wednesday night, according to reports.
As of Saturday, J’Asiah is still missing.
Authorities were seen draining a pond near the toddler’s complex on Friday.
