FLORIDA- Police have arrested two teenagers for targeting the LGBTQ community in a series of robberies and an alleged kidnapping, police say.
Orlando detectives say that an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old were both arrested this week. Their names haven’t been released because authorities are hoping that more victims may come forward to identity them.
The Orlando Police Department released a statement on Thursday saying the two teen suspects committed at least 8 armed robberies and a kidnapping from June to July.
Sgt. Mike Massicotte said that one of the victims who was robbed on July 7 told police one of the suspects told him “This is what you get for doing that gay s***”.
The suspects used the gay dating app Grindr to lure their victims.
