GEORGIA- Former NASCAR driver John Wes Townley, was killed during a shooting in Georgia, police say.
The 32-year-old retired driver was fatally shot during a domestic violence incident, reports the Athens Banner-Herald.
A 30-year-old woman was also injured during the shooting. She was hospitalized with serious injuries.
It’s unclear if Townley and the woman had a relationship.
A 32-year-old male who knew Townley is now a suspect. He hasn’t been charged.
Townley competed in 76 NASCAR races from 2008 to 2016.
