Former NBA Player Amar’e Stoudemire Arrested For Allegedly Hitting His Daughter

Former NBA All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire was arrested on Sunday after hitting his daughter, according to reports.

Stoudemire allegedly struck both of his teen daughters across their face at least twice, once with a closed fist, according to an arrest report obtained by the Miami Herald.

The report states that one of his daughter’s was left bloodied from allegedly being struck.

The arrest report states that Stoudemire’s ex-wife contacted police. She shared photos which showed her daughter crying with “blood running down her face.”

The alleged incident reportedly happened when Stoudemire didn’t like the way his daughter had spoken to him. He accused his daughter of “talking back” before he allegedly “punched” her in the jaw and slapped her, causing a bloody nose, citing the report.

The Miami Herald reports that Stoudemire told his ex-wife to pick up his daughter because she was being “disrespectful”. Stoudemire told police that his daughter asked her mother to pick her up because she had she had got “a whooping from him for being disrespectful and a liar.”

He was booked into jail early Sunday on a misdemeanor battery charge and was given a $1,500 bond, and a stay-away order was issued against Stoudemire, according to the Miami Herald.

A hearing has been scheduled for mid-January.
