The hostess/former stripper who inspired the movie ‘Hustlers’ is suing, and here’s why.
Samantha Barbash is suing Jennifer Lopez’s Nuyorican Production’s, STX Entertainment, Pole Sisters LLC and Gloria Sanchez Productions. This is according to People.
She says that her permission was never given for the movie, claiming scenes from the movie showing her using drugs where she lived with her daughter are ‘offensive and untrue.”
Barbash says when she was asked for permission to have her life played out by Jennifer Lopez in the movie, she turned it down because they offered her “peanuts.”
In response, STX says that they didn’t need her permission to film the movie.
Barbash is currently seeking $20 million.
She was a hostess/stripper that worked at a strip club in Manhattan when she recruited other strippers to drug and steal money from men, until they were caught and arrested.
Some snitched, like Constance Wu’s character. She avoided jail time by doing so.
