Four Charged In Michael K. Williams Drug Overdose Death

BROOKLYN, NYC- Four men have been arrested and charged for allegedly being part of a drug ring that sold deadly fentanyl-laced heroin which killed actor Michael K. Williams, according to a press release.

Carlos Macci, 70, Luis Cruz, 56, Hector Robles, 57, and Irvin Cartagena, 39, were all charged Tuesday with “conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl analogue, fentanyl and heroin.”

The charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum sentence of 40 years.

The men allegedly continued to sell the drug after learning about the actor’s death.

Cartagena, who allegedly gave William’s heroin laced with fentanyl, was charged with causing the actors death and is facing a minimum sentence of 20 years in prison and a possibly life in sentence, according to court filings, reports CNN.

Cartagena will go to court in Puerto Rico, where he was arrested.

Williams was found dead in Sept. in his Brooklyn home.

He died from a deadly mix of heroin and fentanyl.
