The scamming promoter for the Fyre Festival who scammed millions from people should get leniency due to his mental illness.
According Page 6, Billy McFarland’s lawyer asked a Manhattan federal judge in court documents to give the promoter leniency when he’s sentenced on Oct 11th because he suffers from untreated Bipolar disorder and alcohol abuse.
His partner for the Fyre Festival that turned out to be rapper Ja Rule. In a interview with Revolt TV, when asked about the promising music festival that never was, Ja Rule told the interviewer “I’m not ashamed of Fyre at all. Because man, the idea of what I…it was brilliant. It was fucking beyond brilliant…Oh my God, it was amazing. It wasn’t what I dreamed it of being and what I envisioned of it being and what I wanted it to be. It wasn’t done properly.”
McFarland is facing up to 14 years in prison after he pleaded guilty in two fraud cases. His lawyer told the judge that the promoter “has a good heart”. He may also have to pay up to $26 million dollars to Fyre investors.
