Girl, 15, Arraigned On Murder Charges After Fatally Stabbing 17-Year-Old Friend

QUEENS, NYC – A 15-year-old girl is facing murder charges after she allegedly fatally stabbed her 17-year-old friend.

Police said both girls got into an argument inside of a Wendy’s in Sunnyside, Queens, Wednesday night when the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Rivera in the right side of her neck, puncturing an artery.

Both the suspect and Rivera appeared to be drunk before the altercation.

She fled the scene on foot, and when a man attempted to apprehend her, she slashed him with a knife.

Police said both girls went to the same school and knew each other.

The 15-year-old girl, whose name is being withheld due to her age, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a deadly weapon.

She is scheduled to be back in court on Tuesday.
