NEW ORLEANS- A man was stopped by two good samaritans, as he was raping an elderly woman on the street last week in New Orleans.
The 60-year-old victim told police that she was walking on Oct. 15, along the street when Celius Gray, 28, lifted her skirt, and then pushed her to the ground, The Times-Picayune reports.
Gray allegedly began to rape the elderly woman by a roadside, when two samaritans pulled Gray off of the woman, stopping him, before contacting police.
Gray fled the scene, but was later arrested and charged with first-degree rape, resisting arrest by refusing to identify himself and theft of less than $1,000. He’s currently being held on $501,000 bond.
