SHAW, Mississippi: A 48 year old grandmother has been charged with murder after police found her grandchild dead inside if her oven.
According to PalmBeachPost, Carolyn Jones was charged by the Bolivar County on Tuesday with first-degree murder in the death of her granddaughter Royalty Marie Floyd. Sheriff Kevin Williams said the 20 month old toddler’s cause of death is still under investigation.
The toddlers body was stabbed and burned inside of an oven.
The toddler lived with her grandmother and her mother worked in Memphis, Tennessee.
The toddlers body was found by on Monday night Jones’ brother. He then called police and reported what he had witnessed.
Jones is in jail with a $500,000 bond.
