Haiti hit by 7.2 magnitude earthquake; dozens of people dead

HAITI- A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti on Saturday, leaving dozens of people dead.

The earthquake happened 78 miles west of the capital Port-au-Prince.

Haiti’s civil protection agency confirmed 29 deaths and the prime minister has declared a state of emergency.

The country was struck by a magnitude 5.9 earthquake in 2018, which killed more than a dozen people, and the worse was a magnitude 7.1 quake that damaged most of the capital in 2010, killing an estimated 300,o00 people.
