“High Probability” Remains Found In Garbage Belongs To Missing Toddler, Father Behind Bars

GEORGIA- Remains of a toddler discovered in a garbage site this week may belong to J’Asiah Mitchell, who went missing several days ago.

The body of a small child was found on Wednesday at the East Point Transfer Station in Georgia, and police said there is a “high probability” that it could be the body of J’Asiah Mitchell, whose father was arrested, according to 11Alive.

J’Asiah was reported missing on August 16.

North told police that J’Asiah was abducted from his car by armed kidnappers after cutting him off at a red light at night.

After questioning North, police determined that his son wasn’t taken by armed kidnappers. North was arrested and charged with making false statements, but was already in jail on separate charges, Channel 2 reported.

North is a suspect in his son’s disappearance.

J’Asiah’s mother and North weren’t in a relationship at the time of his disappearance.

The toddler had spent the night over at North’s house, according to the boy’s mother.
