NYC- An inmate has tested positive for Covid-19, also known as the Coronavirus.
This exclusive story is according to The Daily News.
Yesterday I wrote a story about Mayor Bill De Blasio in talks with Dept of Corrections to release inmates from jails in the city due to the rapid spread of the Covid-19.
A C.O. who worked at the entrance of Riker’s also tested positive for the virus, so an investigation is underway.
De Blasio wants to release inmates that will most likely not be repeated offenders.
The legal Aid Society of NYC is also getting involved. They’re calling for most inmates to be released.
A corrections officer died last week after being diagnosed with the Coronavirus, and another inmate at the Nassau County Jail has tested positive for the deadly virus.
