BROOKLYN, NYC- Jam Master Jay’s accused killer, was ordered to be held without bail in a Brooklyn federal court on Monday.
36-year-old Karl Jordan Jr, has pleaded not guilty to 2 counts involving the 2002 execution-style death of Jam Master Jay from the rap group Run DMC, whose real name is Jason Mizell.
Jordan has also pleaded not-guilty to 8 drug charges against him.
Prosecutors argued on Monday for Jordan to be remanded, explaining to the the judge that he “executed” Mizell and threatened witnesses if they would tell.
The judge has agreed to keep Jordan without bail, although he can submit for an appeal any given time as The New York Post has reported.
The 2nd suspect, Ronald Washington, 56, has been charged with two counts related to Mizell’s murder, among drug trafficking charges. He’s being arraigned later this week.
Both suspects are facing life in prison, and they also could face the possibility of the death penalty.
Authorities say that Mizell was murdered after a drug deal went wrong back in 2002, inside of a Queens recording studio.
