HOUSTON- The man accused of killing rapper Takeoff will remain behind bars after a judge his request to have his bail reduced.
Judge Josh Hill made the decision to keep Patrick Clark’s bail at $1 million during a bond reduction hearing on Wednesday morning, according to ABC13.
Clark appeared in court via video conference.
His initial bail was set a $2 million, but his attorneys argued that the amount was “unconstitutional” because he could not afford it.
Hill said his ruling was based on statements Clark made on Tuesday, which indicated that he could pay a $1 million bail. Based on that, the judge decided to deny the request to lower Clark’s bond to $300,000 and kept it at $1 million.
Clark, 33, is accused of killing Migos rapper Takeoff on Nov. 1. during an argument after a heated dice game.
