Judge Denies Jury To View Jeep As Evidence In YNW Melly’s Double Murder Trial

FLORIDA- A judge dismissed prosecutors’ motion for a jury to view a jeep being used as evidence in the double-murder trial of rapper YNW Melly.

During a motion hearing on Friday, YNW Melly’s defense team stated their case as to why a request for the jury not to view the Jeep where Christopher Thomas Jr. (YNW Sakchaser) and Anthony Williams (YNW Juvy) where allegedly killed, stating it would be “overkill,” according to NBC Miami.

The rapper’s attorney, Raven Liberty, told the judge “We don’t even know where the decedents were truly sitting because there are no crime scene photos that actually show them being in the car at the hospital,” the outlet reports.

Liberty also explained to the judge that pictures and measurements of inside of the Jeep were already shown during trial, so it wouldn’t be necessary for the jury to view it again.

YNW Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, was charged in Feb. of 2019 after YNW Bortlen was charged with the murders of Williams and Thomas Jr.

Melly and Bortlen are accused of killing their best friends and staging their deaths to look like it was a drive-by shooting.

If convicted, Melly could face the death penalty.
