Judge dismisses murder charge against 9-year-old boy

CENTREVILLE, Mich. (AP)- A judge has dismissed a murder charge against a 9-year-old.

The 9-year-old male suspect, whose name is being withheld due to his age, is being accused of murdering his mother.

Authorities say that the boy is being accused of fatally shooting his own mother at their home on May 6th. He reportedly showed remorse soon after the killing, as he cried to his father and hugged him afterwards.

The boy was found incompetent by a judge to go ahead with the trial because he’s not 10 years old yet. This is according to their laws.

Prosecutors were reportedly telling the judge that the boy could possibly kill again, but there is no way to prove that.
