Jury Finds 3 Accused Of Killing Rapper XXXTentacion Guilty Of Murder

FLORIDA – The three men accused of killing rapper XXXTentacion were convicted on Monday by a grand jury.

Michael Boatwright, 28, (shooter), Dedrick Williams, 26, and Trayvon Newsome, 24 were all found guilty of first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm in the fatal shooting of the Florida rapper.

Jurors reached their verdict after deliberating for eight days in a month-long trial. Prosecutors called the three men ‘predators” who executed the 20-year-old rapper in cold blood.

XXXTentacion’s parents were reportedly in the courtroom as the verdict was read.

A fourth suspect, Robert Allen, pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder last year and testified against the three men as part of his deal agreement.

Prosecutors said that the three men waited for XXXTentacion outside of a Fort Lauderdale motorcycle shop. The masked men blocked his vehicle before Boatwright shot the rapper several times.

The men grabbed XXXTentacion’s Louis Vuitton bag that contained $50,000 in cash. Video that was played in court by prosecutors showed the rapper withdrawing the money minutes before from a bank as he smiled.

The group then fled the scene.

The suspects then posted videos of themselves flashing $100 bills that belonged to the rapper on social media less than 24 hours after he was killed, according to prosecutors.

One of the rapper’s friends who was in the passenger side of the car wasn’t injured during the deadly robbery.

XXXTentacion’s rap career had just begun to take off, with his fan base increasingly growing. He was 20 years old.

All three men face life on prison.
