FLORIDA – Rapper YNW Melly appeared in court Friday for a defense motions hearing.
The Florida rapper is accused of killing two of his best friends, Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas and Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Willams as they were inside of a Jeep Compass on Oct. 26, 2018.
His co-defendant Cortland “Bortlen” Henry, is currently awaiting trial.
He is accused of driving the Jeep while the killings occurred.
The trial ended in a hung jury last year.
It was announced Friday that jury selection is expected to begin in March of 2024, according to WPLG.
Melly is waiting for a re-trial for the double murders.
