CALIFORNIA- A jury is scheduled to hear opening statements on Wednesday in the trial of Eric Holder, who’s accused of murdering rapper Nipsey Hussle, according to reports.
A 12-person panel that was sworn in Monday to hear the case of Eric Holder Jr. will return to court with six other jurors who were chosen on Tuesday in case any of the original jurors have to be replaced, reports MyNewsLa.
Holder, 32, was indicted in 2019 on one count each of murder and possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts each of attempted murder and assault with a firearm.
Prosecutors told the grand jury that Holder walked up to a group with Nipsey Hussle and had gotten into an argument with the rapper. Nipsey accused Holder of being a snitch during the quick argument.
Holder is accused of leaving the parking lot, and returning, where he shot the rapper, who was standing in front of his clothing store.
Nipsey suffered 11 gunshot wounds, according to reports.
Video footage from near-by showed Holder then kicking the rapper in the head as he was still alive on the ground.
Holder was arrested in 2019 and has been in jail since then.
