NORTH CAROLINA- A woman has been arrested and charged after polie say she dumped her newborn baby in the trash.
According to The News Observer, police arrested Maryuri Estefany Calix-Macedo, 21, and charged her with first-degree attempted murder.
A woman was walking her dog on Thursday, when she heard cries from a baby that was coming from a trash can near a church.
The newborn was reported to have been found with his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, and he was covered in blood.
Macedo is being held on $800,000 bond.
Police say that she left her son to die..
