Kanye West booted off Illinois ballot due to invalid signatures
ILLINOIS- Rapper turned presidential candidate, Kanye West, has been booted off his hometown ballot due to invalid signatures.
Elected officials in Illinois found that 1,900 out of the 3,128 signatures West submitted, were invalid, which leaves him short of 2,500 signatures he needed, to be on the states Presidential ballot.
Kanye West reportedly paid $30,000 to be included on the ballot.
There are rumors that some of the signatures were allegedly fake.
According to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Wisconsin is looking into West’s presidential bid in their state, after they found Democratic party members found signatures for Bernie Sanders and “Mickey Mouse”.
Attorney Michael Maistelman, who gathered the affidavits for the state Democratic Party told the paper “If the affidavits are true … crimes were committed by the West campaign”.
