CHICAGO- A Kanye West mural was painted over in Chicago this past weekend after his antisemitic comments.
A video posted to a Twitter account Wednesday shows a man using black paint to cover the 14-foot mural of the rapper, whose real name is Ye, on the side of a building in the city’s West Loop neighborhood.
So, who’s the artist behind the cover-up?
Jason M. Peterson is the artist behind the blacked-out mural.
He posted the video on his Instagram story with a caption that read “We need better role models.”
Ye grew up in Chicago with his mother.
This comes after companies like Balenciaga, GAP, Adidas and others cut ties with Ye. He was even escorted out of Skechers headquarters this past week after making an unannounced visit to them which didn’t go well.
