Katy Perry testifies in court, after Christian rapper accuses her of stealing his beat for “Dark Horse”

CALIFORNIA- Katy Perry testified on Thursday after being accused of allegedly stealing a Christian rapper’s beat for her hit ‘Dark Horse’, which features Juicy J.

Yikes.

The Christian rapper, who goes by Rapper Flame, along with the co-creators of the song, are suing Perry for copyright infringement.

The rappers claim that the singer stole their beat from their 2008 song ‘Joyful Noise’  featuring Lecrae.

According to The Christian Post, the complaint states “Defendants never sought or obtained permission from plaintiffs to use the ‘Joyful Noise’ song in creating, reproducing, recording, distributing, selling, or publicly performing defendants’ song,” the complaint states. “Plaintiffs never gave any of the defendants permission, consent, or a license to use ‘Joyful Noise’ for any purpose, including creation of a derivative work based on ‘Joyful Noise”

Perry says she’s never heard of the song ‘Joyful Noise’, and spoke on the stand for about 35 minutes in civil court according to The Christian Post.

Here’s a comparison between both songs, what do you think?
