Singer Kelis’ husband, Mike Mora, has died from cancer.
The 37-year-old photographer had been battling stage 4 stomach cancer.
Mora had shared the news about his diagnosis several months ago on social media.
In a Sept. 2021 post, Mora told his followers that he thought he had a stomach ulcer before he was diagnosed in 2020.
He wrote how he experienced the worst pain in his stomach, back and loss of appetite. Doctors told Mora he had stage 4 cancer which had begun to spread to the lymph nodes in his back.
“I thought the whole time that I just had an ulcer. With no idea what was about to come my way,” he posted. “Here I was, in a hospital bed, during the middle of the pandemic. All alone.”
Mora said he “never thought this could happen to me. At just 36, with 3 kiddos, and a wife that loves me.”
Mora and Kelis share a 1-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son. Kelis also shares her 12-year-old son Knight with ex-husband Nas.
